The saturday of the 23rd, the team of Kisling Nestico and Redick (KNR) will transform themselves into cute, white Polar Bears and take a freezing plunge into the icy lake all for the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank. The Kisling Nestico and Redick (KNR) is not just doing this for fun, they are hoping to raise $25,000 this year and they are inviting others to join their cause – or also attempt to have a bit more fun and bump them off the leader board for this friendly competition.

Nestico notes that there is always something special with coming together with you loved ones, family and friends, and uniting for one purpose. The members of the community also pledge their support to the cause and are determined to help those who are in need.

Participating in the Polar Bear Jump is part of the year-long charity campaign of Kisling Nestico and Redick (KNR), called KNR Cares About Kids. Along with this campaign comes their Spring Break Donations which cover for the food provision of the kids during spring break.

The CEO of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Dan Flowers, punctuates that more that 1 out of 5 kids in their eight-county service area do not enjoy the full security of food provision. And it only takes about $1 to provide four meals for a neighbor in need. The donation and contribution of Kisling Nestico and Redick (KNR) will provide food to cover 100,000 meals that will help the individuals and communities covered by the food bank.

Jason Hope Sees A Future Without Alzheimer’s

While Jason Hope is one of the big names involved with supporting the SENS Foundation and their goals to slow down aging, there are many other people supporting the important tasks that they are trying to complete. Even Peter Thiel, the co-founder of payment giant PayPal has shown a lot of interest in Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence Foundation and even gave an investment that allowed them to begin some of their first topics of research. Some other investors such as the co-founders of Google have also been investing in biotech companies that are researching on anti-aging.

Jason Hope is an investor in his career, but the money that he has given to SENS is an act of pure philanthropy. It’s important to remember that the goal with anti-aging is not to try to cheat death in any way. While there will soon be considerable breakthroughs happening in the field, there isn’t much of a chance that the technology required to extend people’s lives by hundreds of years in anywhere near development or approval in the near future. Some of these treatments that are developed in the near future may still take a long time to be completed and approved as well as the process can be very complicated.

Instead of just trying to treat individual diseases that are related to aging as they happen, Jason Hope wants to be able to prevent aging in their entirety in the future.

The tech savvy believes we may see a time with almost no cases of illnesses like Alzheimer’s. With some animals such as hydras never experiencing signs of aging, the world may someday see the same in humans.

Tony Petrello Gives Of His Time And Resources To Help Others

New jersey born and bred Tony Petrello has given millions in donations to help the less fortunate, support philanthropic organizations and provide aid to charitable causes. But Petrello has done more than simply write a check.

The CEO of the oil and gas drilling giant Nabors Industries often gives large amounts of time and willingly shares his prodigious talents as well. Tony Petrello is just the opposite of what people imagine when they think of a wealthy top executive of a leading global company. His years of service to the poor and needy proves he genuinely is a thoughtful, caring person.

One example of Tony Petrello’s caring nature is how he responded when his daughter Carena was diagnosed with the neurological condition periventricular leukomalacia at birth. Rather than shut down and focus on the struggle his daughter faced, Petrello opened his heart and his wallet and began working with Texas Children’s Hospital to build a neurological research and treatment facility to help children all over the world with neurological problems. Tony Petrello began by donating $7 million of his own money, then worked tirelessly to raise the hundreds of millions more the hospital needed to build, equip, staff and run the world-class facility.

When Hurricane Harvey slammed Houston, Texas and the surrounding areas in 2017, Tony Petrello and Nabors Industries immediately sprung into action. Petrello gave $175,000 to organizations involved in the disaster relief efforts. The company also used its cafeteria to cook and serve thousands hot meals several times a day for people who had lost their homes and workers involved in the clean-up effort. Members of the Nabors Industries staff impacted by the storm were given paid leave so they could ensure their loved ones were safe. Petrello then personally matched the almost $200,000 in donations the workers raised for disaster relief.

Tony Petrello earned his BS and MS degrees in mathematics at Yale while on scholarship. When one of the school’s famed math professors, Serge Lang, died, Tony Petrello wanted to do something to honor the beloved professor and mentor. So he donated $150,000 to fund a scholarship in Professor Lang’s name. Not satisfied, Petrello put up another $150,000 in matching funds to ensure gifted math majors would be able to attend Yale University in memory of Professor Serge Lang. Tony Petrello knew that helping math majors is a gesture of which the math professor would approve.
